I Liked Her...
Mehrad Vaezinejad  [info|posts]

Once upon a time there was her, and I liked her.
You know why I hate you, God? Really wanna know?
Cause she was the only one, and I just liked her.
Night after night I wrote you: she ain't my love.
Cause lovin' is bullshit, said I just liked her.
Begged you for your mercy, "no way," you said,
She had to be the next one, who cares if I liked her?
Now that she's gone, you're the one to blame...
You celestial bastard! You knew I just liked her.
Her words are now memories, memories, her smile ;)
Wessie often kicked ass, and I liked her.

Stay away from drugs my friend!

Liked the punch-line. :-)

Did you see her smile? (Of course, this question can be read in two ways. I mean it the second sense. ;-) )

Absolute BS.

Fair point dear Visitor!

Where did this come from!??? An ode to Wessie! I remember asking the editors to cut the clutter by removing the extraneous comments, now they published one as an article! Oh God, what is next?

Senior Grad at June 10, 2004 03:15 PM [permalink]:

Calm down, Wellesley Girl! This is another Wessie Mehrad is talking about. :-)

Wellesley Girl at June 10, 2004 05:04 PM [permalink]:

Senior Grad, I have a weird sense that I know you! Is it possible? Do you think you know me?

WG at June 10, 2004 05:04 PM [permalink]:

And who might this wessie be?

AmericanWoman at June 10, 2004 10:04 PM [permalink]:

Come on! There can only be one Wessie.

I was once accused of being her, but anyone looking closely would know I couldn't touch her energy with a ten-foot pole. She was an emotional, --often an angry-- person, but one who often smiled ;-). Her tyrannical monopolizing of the bandwidth was easy to bear because, even though she only had one song to sing, she sang it so earnestly, and with such intelligence and wit, that we were all drawn in, over and over again.

I miss Wessie too. Not because of her voluminuous rants, (which I always skipped) but because of how she brought the best out in all of us. Who can forget the icy brilliance of An Iranian Student's logic, the patient and methodical reasoning of Babek S, the flippant humor and painstaking citations of Senior Grad, the brave attempts at objective discussion by Hajir...none of it has been the same since she was banished.

It's true she wasn't the easiest to correspond with, she did have faults. She ranted. She was defensive, -- not to mention oblivious to any point of view other than her own. She was hateful, hurtful and wrong. Privately, I believed her to be often drunk, a sad lonely derelict, her ancient 90+ year old body too wrecked and fragile to contain her razor sharp intellect and lively imagination.

She loved us all, even as she went on and on and ON about how much she hated us, --because WE would play with her.

We were all Moslems to her, and that was what our problem was. No matter how many time she told us, even if we agreed with her sometimes, we were just too stupid to see that. What purpose she had, what clarity!

It would be easy to go find her, ask her to come back, but I have to make the hard choice for boring old sanity, and I find that I must "Just Say No."

Aaah yes, Wessie! You know she actually emailed me to protest against her being banished(!) although I am not one of the directors of this site or anything more than an occasional commnter (and pain in the back!). I understood this as a sign of her respect. I read it much later cuase I don't usually check my AIS email account anyway.

To tell yopu the truth I miss her too, but like AmericanWoman said there is a time were you should simply say No and this is one of them I guess.

...and Gosh AmericaWoman! You make me blush ;)

BTW, since this is a post on the lighter side of things, I can't resist linking to this off-off-topic cartoon. It was just funny. (sorry)

What is it? how old are you? is it a real love story? are you 15 years old. Come on! take it easy.

Was Wessie *really* banned? I had no idea. Man! I should go check my email, maybe she has emailed me too. ;-)

AmericanWoman: You've got that writing gene. INVU.
