Dr. Strangeluv or How I Stopped Worrying and Luv Rap...
Mehrad Vaezinejad  [info|posts]

strlove.jpg This entry has no point. You better not read it if you are obsessed with points.
It asks no questions
It answers none
Don't you continue
if you're looking for one.

I write. I am writing. I wrote. I have written. Do you mind if I write? So you don't let me write. Who the f*** you think you are not to let me write? Anyway, I will not write. I don't mind if you too write not. So, don't you write! Who the f*** I think I am to ask you write not. I can't write. Can you write? Do you mind if I cannot write? Would you tell me please what to write? Who the f*** you think you are to teach me how to write? Let us write. Let us not mind if we not write right. Let us not fight. Who the f*** I think I am to ask us not to fight?

You see?
Intellectuals are not always intellectuals
[Chorus] They need not be!
Free thoughts are not always intellectuals
[Chorus] They need not be!
They write nonsense
They read THE nonsense
They're not even always heterosexuals
[Chorus] And they need not be
[Chorus] 'f course they need not be...

Congratulations Mehrad! You just made the fist FTOI author contribution to the WessLog! I hope it will also be the last :-)

yahya at January 22, 2004 11:40 AM [permalink]:

Mehrad, what were you smoking?

Mamdali at January 22, 2004 11:44 AM [permalink]:

Ay dude,
emmm....maybe we should add a "Taft" section to FTOI.

Jahan at January 22, 2004 12:36 PM [permalink]:

What I found ironic is that this "something about nothing" article was posted under the "science" category.

Good job, editor(s)!

Mehrad at January 22, 2004 12:53 PM [permalink]:

Apart from two previous posts by Kaveh and Hazhir, this has been, by far, the best thing ever posted here. Lovely editors can throw it wherever they like if it does not quite fit in their framework.

And dear Yahya,
After such a shameful decision by Editors in creating WessLog, why not suggest them to add a MadLog as well for those who "smoke" before posting. Arash Jalali has already made his point.

yahya at January 22, 2004 12:57 PM [permalink]:

I admire the rebelious nature of your post.

Grand Vizier at January 22, 2004 02:03 PM [permalink]:

I think the science category was intentional, and funny!

Wasn't it Mehrad?

Señor Græd at January 22, 2004 07:06 PM [permalink]:

Not to glorify your nonsensical contribution by leaving a comment, Mehrad, but last time I saw you here you were so afraid. What happened?

BUT, not to worry, there *are* people who make ends meet merely by uttering nonsesne while keeping a straight face. Not only make ends meet, but sometimes make a lot of money, so your fault is forgiveable. :-)

Look this up for more ideas on how to sell crap: http://www.killingthebuddha.com/

Mehrad at January 22, 2004 07:53 PM [permalink]:

Dear Senior,

1. I cannot underestand the relation between my post and money, yet if it makes you happy, I have no problem making ends meet whatsoever.

2. I think my "nonesesical" post talks for itself, but regarding your comments on other entries I should say: Please ask the authors if their post needs "glorifing" before you thrust the fruits of your googling habit into their post.

hazhir at January 22, 2004 08:46 PM [permalink]:

Why don't you sing the song you put at the end with some natural chorus and post it in taftestan.blogspot.com, with a link to it here. I bet by adding the sound, it will be even more fun ;)

hossein at January 22, 2004 08:51 PM [permalink]:

I think this post is one of the best and most sensible ones in this weblog. But that's me!

Babak S at January 22, 2004 09:03 PM [permalink]:

I second hossein. Mehrad has a sense of humour and artistry that I have always enjoyed.

Buji at January 22, 2004 11:34 PM [permalink]:

ToooooP Mehrad :)

Alis in Wonderland at January 23, 2004 01:48 AM [permalink]:

I like the Peter Seller's picture you have put there Mehrad. Do you accept volunteers for Chorus? Count me if you where in short of chorus.

AmericanWoman at January 23, 2004 02:50 AM [permalink]:

Luv'd it! Lighten up people.

The point is, there is no point—other than chatting, which is one of the internet's greatest appeals. Given that so many people like to chat about totally "disconnected" and "irrelevant" subjects and they do that for a lifetime in the real world— Mehrad has kindly provided this thread. :-)

The trouble with this site is that there are too many hard-science types who erroneously fancy themselves "serious" intellectuals and not enough philosophers, artists and real thinkers to put a creative two and two together. ;-)

No need to smoke—but rather, to think!

Congrats to Mehrad!

Wessie

PS—Incessant, irrelevant poster Senior Grad should learn to make live hyperlinks. Try googling HTML, Majesty. ;-)

Wessie at January 23, 2004 01:05 PM [permalink]:

Huh? So some "no point" posts get to stay and others not—even on the "no point" thread?

Oh, I luv arbitrary "justice" it keeps you on your toes. Makes one try to figure out how to get around the Muttawa. LOL

Got any booze in that tea cup? ;-)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I second the BOOOO...O-sayer. BIG time. :->

After all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about the lack of articles, I can't believe this negative reaction to the very next post! Refusing to be muted by anxiety over language,Mehrad has the guts to pick up the pen and lays down some Free Thought. Why is everyone kicking his ass? Does it have to be Free Thought about Engineering/Politics/Ecomonics? Mehrad, I don't know if this is what you meant to say, but to me this post is about free speech, taking yourself too seriously, not being judgemental and also kind of like a fun rap. A stylized, artistic form. Not bad for a white guy.
P.S. Dr. Strangelove is a great film. Also, Life of Brian.

Mehrad at January 24, 2004 08:41 AM [permalink]:

Senior and passerby,
What is all the BOOOOOOOOOOing about?

Wessie at January 24, 2004 11:40 AM [permalink]:

Nope, AW, it appears it is NOT about free speech! Perhaps it is about some Persian Prince's free speech. It is certainly not about everyone's free speech. They once again "moved" one of my postings (The one about the un-Islamic ads in the West) and left others.

MADD

It is so difficult to figure out what is "offensive" to their royal highnesses???

So, this appears to simply be a chat thread or what. . .?

Time to go play with Alice, in Wonderland, where everything means whatever they say it means, nothing more nothing less:

Dear Wessie,
Just as a reminder:
Removal of comments has nothing to do with the author, it is only a matter of Editors' responsibility. I, personally, am against any comment being removed or even relocated from my post.

Wessie at January 24, 2004 12:48 PM [permalink]:

Yes, yes, I know Mehrad. I just figure it must be whoever is playing "posting monitor" on that day and whether they got out on the wrong side of the bed. ;-)

You have to admit that it is all pretty non-sensical.

GoldenGouboul at January 26, 2004 06:09 PM [permalink]:

Aye, ya okay if I change "THE nonsense" to "DA nonesense" when I sing it? Hazhir's got a good pt dude. Boos!
